Security Administration

 

The Security option gives the administrator of the pretreatment program the ability to restrict the use of the software.  With the security option enabled users will be required to log in. Based on their security setting our system will only enable the sections and screens that are available to that user.   Each user will have the ability to modify their user name and password within the system, if they have access to that particular screen. 

 

The first screen that you come to within the program, if you have the security option is displayed below.

 

 

If you do not know your user name and password, contact your pretreatment coordinator or Linko Software administrator.  If you are the administrator and do not know your user name and password, please contact Linko Data Systems.

 

After clicking OK with the correct user name and password, users will be brought to the main menu.  From the main menu users will be able to access only the screens that are available from their security settings. 

 

To configure security settings go to the security administration screen from the Admin menu bar item.  You should see the screen that is listed below.

Security Work Group

 

From here users can first, create a new Work Group and assign security settings to a work group.  Keep in mind the next step is then to assign users to a Work Group.  So we first create the security settings that we want and then assign users to the work group.  Users can add as many or as few users to a work group as you choose.   Clicking on the Users to Groups button will bring up the screen displayed below.  To see a description of the types of actions that can be performed by a user based on the Form Category and privileges they have been granted, refer to the LinkoCTS Security Description guide.

 

 

 

You can use the Add Users to create a new user in the same manner that you would from the Personnel Tab under System Admin. Keep in mind that the users do need to be added to the system prior to adding them to a work group. When you have all the users created that you need, you can add them to the Groups you want. Once a user is added to a work group, they will only have access to the features that are assigned to that work group. 

 

For a user to change his/her user information, the user should go to the system administration screen and click on the detail button for the record that displays their information.  User will see the screen below:

 

 

 

Users can change their information here.  Users will not have the ability to modify other users’ information.  However the Administrator can modify any of the users’ information.

This section describes the security privileges required to perform certain tasks in the Linko software.  In all instances, a user must be granted View privileges for each “Form Category” in addition to the “Necessary Privilege(s)” listed. The Linko security module must have also been purchased.
